Mark Zuckerberg vs. One Pint of Guinness: The Internet Has Thoughts

Zuck brought a whole keg of Dublin Guinness to The Cheeky Pint podcast. Then he took a sip, and the internet took it from there.

Mark Zuckerberg runs one of the biggest tech empires on the planet, built a superintelligence lab and is betting more than $100 billion on AI. But one pint of Guinness? That might have been his toughest opponent yet.

The Sip Heard Around the World

The Meta CEO stopped by "The Cheeky Pint," the podcast hosted by Stripe co-founder John Collison, where the whole gimmick is talking shop over a beer. Zuckerberg came prepared, too. He and Meta's Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang showed up with a fresh keg of Dublin Guinness to honor the show's tradition.

The conversation was supposed to be about Meta's Muse Wonder launch and the future of personal AI agents. According to the episode description, Mark and Alex also opened up about creating Meta Superintelligence Labs, a "complete talent reboot," and what it feels like to make a $100B+ CapEx commitment before knowing whether the model will work.

Big stuff. Nobody cared. Because the second Zuck took a sip of the Black Stuff, his face told a whole different story. The clip shows him swirling the pint, putting on his best "this is delicious" face, and looking like a man fighting for his life.

The Internet Did Not Hold Back

Social media users decided almost immediately that the tech billionaire was not a Guinness guy.

"Mark Zuckerberg pretending to enjoy Guinness is my new favourite thing," became the line of the day, copied and reposted by account after account across X.

The account @WUTangKids put it bluntly: "Zuckerberg is not a real human being….Guinness is an acquired taste for sure but holy shit man."

@Cantona_Collars went full play-by-play: "Congratulations, Mark Zuckerberg. You've somehow made drinking a pint of Guinness look like the most unnatural act ever performed by a human."

And @mashscot landed what might be the most on-brand roast of all, given the AI talk: "Mark Zuckerberg drinking Guinness looks like someone has asked AI to generate a video of a human enjoying a pint."

Over at @swd2, the clip came with a simple caption: "Enjoy Mark Zuckerberg dying inside while trying to drink Guinness."

Why This Hit So Hard

Part of the joke is the setup. This wasn't a random drink someone handed him. He brought the keg. Sourced from Dublin. On a show literally built around having a pint. Then he looked like he'd never tasted beer in his life.

It also plays right into the long-running internet bit that Zuckerberg is somehow not quite human, which is why so many reactions went straight to robot and AI jokes. A billionaire talking about building superintelligence, defeated by an Irish stout, is the kind of content the internet lives for.

To be fair to Zuck, Guinness really is an acquired taste, and plenty of people make that same face on their first pint. But most of them aren't doing it on camera while trying to sell the world on the future of AI.

The lesson here? Next time, maybe bring a keg of something you've actually tried.
