Carrot Top is in a Las Vegas hospital after a suicide attempt on Friday, according to reports.

The comedian — real name Scott Thompson — was rushed to a local hospital, and his Friday night Luxor show was canceled. He’s since also had Saturday’s Luxor performance called off while he remains hospitalized and continues to receive care.

His rep, Jami Schlicher, said Thompson “is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” adding that his family and those closest to him are grateful for the concern and prayers and are respectfully asking for privacy.

MGM Resorts, which owns the Luxor, called him a beloved member of the Luxor and MGM family, said they’re relieved he’s recovering, and wished him strength as he gets the care he needs.

Thompson, 61, is known for prop comedy, the signature red hair, and one of the longest-running Vegas residencies at the Luxor. Next scheduled Luxor date had been floated for Monday, Sept. 21 — whether that goes ahead is unclear while he recovers.
